Leeds Arts Council Exibit Opening for Featured Artist Nancy Grimes
Leeds, AL June 1st

|
Nancy & me with some of her sketches & photos |
June 1st was a very busy day!
Local artist and life-long friend Nancy Grimes was selected as featured artist for the month of June by the Leeds Arts
Council. She was honored with a reception opening her exhibit. Nancy's work includes pencil & graphite sketches, as well
as black and white photography. She loves sketching babies and a variety of animals, but her favorite subjects are horses,
which she has been sketching since we were children.
After the reception, it was off to Vulcan Park!
Vulcan's 104th Birthday Celebration
Vulcan Park, Birmingham, AL June 1st
Anyone who has visited Birmingham knows it's oldest resident "lives" on the top of Red Mountain and has the best view
in town.
Vulcan, the symbol of Birmingham's iron & steel industry, celebrated his 104th birthday this June and the city of
Birmingham threw him a big celebration.
Despite a brief summer shower, there was quite a turn out!

Miracle League End of the Season Party
Moody, AL June 14

The regular season is over for my buddies at the Miracle League. The volunteers and staff threw a big
party. We had great food, inflatables , face painting, karaoke and "dunk a buddy."
Yes, that's me...about to take my turn in the dunking booth!
Just like during our games, we pitch til a player gets a hit and everyone gets a home run.
Needless to say, I got very wet, very quickly!
(Check back for the pic of that first dunk!)
