Christmas Card Photo 2006 |

|
Auburn 22, Alabama 15.... War Eagle! |
This photo was, by far, the easiest Christmas card photo to take. Everyone was really jazzed. We took several poses,
but this was the first and the best. It made a really cute card & all my Auburn buddies thought it was really clever, but
none of my crimson tide buddies did.
VOLUNTEERING

Previous Pageants
One of my favorite hobbies is competing in pageants. The photo above is from All American Miss Venus Plus March 2005;
the one below is when I repesented the state of Alabama in the US Sophisticate Pageant in March 2004.

I met Dale Smith Thomas at a pageant workshop. She is a motivational speaker, author and coach. She is the founder of
"Boot Camp for Beauty Queens" and has been seen on the season finale of "The Simple Life:Interns" putting Paris & Nichole
through the pageant paces. She also writes a weekly motivational column called "Motivational Monday," that starts your week
out on a positive track! (see my links page for details)

So much so, that I volunteer every year!

TWIRLING GIRLS
This is me and my girls in the 2002 Christmas Parade in Leeds, Alabama. My daughters' baton teacher also taught me 20
years prior to this event. My daughter, Julia, was her first, second-generation student! When parade time rolled around, she
asked if I wanted to march too. How could I resist?! It was a tough 2 miles, but when my former classmates saw me, they
shouted encouragement all along the way.

My "grand-dog" Mufossa & his mommy Julia |
This is my younger brother, Jason, an officer in Birmingham's Mounted Patrol, and the inspiration for my other platform
cause, Promoting Protection of Police Officers. He has been a police officer for about 10 years and I am very proud
of him. He is pictured here with his horse Vector in Washington DC. He represented Birmingham , for the second year, in the
National Slain Officers Memorial Parade.

STILL TWIRLIN'
I've been twirling over 30 years now. It's not as easy as it used to be, (and now more of me jiggles..tee hee) but
it's still just as fun!

Prom 2006 |

|
Mom, Julia, Me and "the purse" |
When Julia decided to go to the Prom, my mother and I were excited to carry on a family tradition..."The
Purse" It is a simple pearl-beaded evening bag. My mother carried it to the Prom when she was 16 (escorted by my Dad),
I carried it to all of my Proms and now Julia would carry it to hers.
Family Reunion 2006 |

|
These photos were taken on my mother-in-law's camera phone at my husband's family reunion, because
no one remembered to bring their camera. We look so funny because we are all trying to squeeze on a little bench in
his aunt's back yard. The words "falling off a log" come to mind when I see this photo. I take so many photos that my
kids HATE posing for them, so we only get one shot at getting a family photo, whether it's a decent shot or not!

Kaitlyn, Tyler & Julia |
...Okay, well maybe 2 pictures...but I have to beg

Heath's not real keen on getting his photo taken either, (I don't know why, cause he's so darn cute!) so
this one is a rare one too.
